Innovation Advisor for Innovation Center Denmark in Silicon Valley

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic new colleague to join the team at Innovation Center Denmark in Palo Alto as an Innovation Advisor from June 2017.

At the Innovation Center Denmark in Silicon Valley, you will be part of a dynamic team of 21 highly skilled commercial advisors covering different sectors and industries within the areas of innovation, investment and export.

Your role will mainly be in in the life science area. You will be key in developing and driving the life science platform at ICDK. As a part of the job you will also be responsible for an international exchange program for Danish medical students working at UCSF and Stanford funded by a Danish foundation.

Your main focus will be Silicon Valley, but you will be part of a team covering the entire US market.

As an Innovation Advisor you will work with Innovation, commercialisation of research and business development and other tasks related to commercial innovation. This includes facilitating and supporting companies and innovation or research institutions to growth, innovation and business development through engaging and developing partnerships with Silicon Valley.  Your tasks will include business development,  as well as sales, project delivery, analysis, building networks  and working closely with the Silicon Valley ecosystem.

You will be part of a team working towards a sales target. You will be measured on your ability to create value for the Danish companies you will work for. 

Your competencies and motivation:

We expect your competencies to include a relevant university degree and 5+ years of working experience from relevant positions in or in relation to the sector. Experience from project management in a university with fellowship programs and international exchange is relevant, as is hands-on working experience with innovation management.

You are well networked in the US and/or Danish life science sector and are fluent in English. Further qualifications are:

• Self-driven, proactive, eager and able to work well independently.
• Persuasive presentation skills and enthusiasm
• Strong ability to identify business opportunities
• Eye for strategic business planning
• Solid networker and sharp eye for identifying decision makers
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Experience in business development or sales are an asset
• Excellent formulation and communication skills and not afraid of cold calling
