Libratone is a young Danish audio company that approached Innovation Centre Denmark in Silicon Valley (USA) with a clear mission: they wanted to liberate music by using wireless technology, high-quality components and craftsmanship as well as Scandinavian design. They had a concept ready, but not yet a prototype. ICDK in Silicon Valley helped Libratone assess the market potential for their innovative speaker, adjust and verify their business model, prepare Libratone to introduce their business model to potential investors and open the doors to the relevant investor and advisor network. The results speak for themselves.
Their first investor was convinced to invest additional funds in Libratone and through investor meetings the firm established contact with Apple. Two years after Libratone’s arrival in Silicon Valley Libratone speakers are on the shelves of Apple stores in 130 different countries and in Apple’s online store. The speakers are also sold in other premium stores like Colette in Paris and Giorgio Armani “istuff” in Milan.
