On Monday the 5th of December Innovation Centre Denmark at the Danish Embassy in Seoul together with the embassies of Sweden, Norway, and Finland and the Korean Ministry for Gender Equality and Family held a policy forum for knowledge sharing and discussion on the subject of gender equality.
Korean research and entrepreneurship are still heavily dominated by males, so as a part of the mission to promote collaboration within these areas between Denmark and Korea, ICDK Seoul saw the perfect opportunity to hold a forum for knowledge sharing. The Korean Ministry for Gender Equality and Family was quick to join forces, as was the embassies of Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
The forum had a Korean keynote speech and speeches from each country followed by a panel discussion on how to secure increased gender equality in Korea. The Danish speaker was Pernille Ravn Jakobsen who talked about being a woman in academia and being an entrepreneur. The event was filled to the brim and great ideas were shared to the benefit of all participants. To secure further collaboration, an MOU between the Ministry and the four countries was signed by minister Kang Eun-hee and the four ambassadors.
